This was taken in the early morning hours of August 26, 2012, as the moon was setting (12:35 a.m.). As it got closer to the horizon, it became very red! You can see a slight reflection in the water; and the 2 points of light on the left were either from one of the fishing vessels out on the water, or a light at the far end of the island. I believe it is a light from the far point of the island. Kiawah Island runs somewhat east to west because of the way it is positioned alongside the mainland, or rather the other islands; so on the Atlantic side, you can actually see a bit of reflection in the water from moonset.
